Hot on the heels of Saturday’s great performance, the Shots found last night’s opposition much more of a challenge.
Having failed to beat the Bull’s in four games last season the White’s domination over the Shots continued when they took the lead after just four short minutes in front of a vocal 3647 spectators at Edgar Street. The Bull’s opener came when Jamie Pitman managed to slip the ball to talented midfielder Danny Williams who was on hand to drive a low shot past Nikki Bull and in to the back of the Aldershot net.
Hereford continued the first half like a team on fire and continued to impress going forwards coming close on a number of occasions – the Shots often looking like they couldn’t quite find their rhythm.
The second half continued in much the same vein – with the Bull’s looking to have sealed a comfortable 1-0 victory – that was until they made it a comfortable 2-0 in the final few minutes when Hugh McAuley went down with cramp and the ball went out for a corner. The Bulls managed to do what the Shots fail to do time and time again – and score from a corner.
It was a victory that Hereford deserved on the night and the Shots will be looking to up their tempo when Carlisle make the long trip down south for another top of the table clash.
