Two goals from Aaron McLean and an own goal from Fareham’s Danny Turner sealed what amounted to a comfortable victory for Terry Brown’s side against their Wessex League opposition last night.
Terry Brown fielded a strong Shots side, including several first team players and the score-line could have been far greater but for some poor finishing in front of the Fareham net.
After several missed chances, it was Danny Turners own goal that got the Shots off the mark. Nick Crittenden floated in a great corner that ended up hitting Turner on the rear and deflected in to the Fareham net.
The second goal came a short time later when Phil Warner made an inch perfect pass in to the path of an advancing Aaron McLean. McLean unleashed a low shot that flew passed the keeper, hit the post and then the rear of the net.
The final goal came in the second half when Adam Crittenden, brother of Nick, placed the ball in to the path of McLean who was able to tap the ball passed the advancing Fareham keeper.
