Shots Held In Latest Friendly

Last updated : 24 July 2007 By Stray Shots Team
With a squad of 22 made up entirely of triallists the Shots were held to a 2-2 draw at Ash United tonight.

The Strays special correspondent recognised Horsell, the triallist goalkeeper from Torquay, Starkey, who was having another try out at left back, Donnelly, Massey and Bourne from previous pre-season friendlies.

A certain J. Challinor was wearing number 21 for tonight's game (played in the Charters light blue away kit), but it was actually somebody called Jack Challinor, so Jon isn't about to make a surprise return!

Shots took the lead on 20 minutes courtesy of Lubomir Guentchev - a former Ipswich youth player.

Ash United responded within 6 minutes to level the scores but within eight minutes the Shots were in front again. with a goal from another former Ipswich Town academy player Kieran Leabon.

The second half saw a flurry of substitutions and it was Ash who scored the final goal of the evening ten minutes from time to level it at 2-2.

A full report will undoubtedly appear on www.theshots.co.uk tomorrow.
