3G Training Pitch

Plans to develop a 3G training pitch at the EBB Stadium were met with positive reaction from those members attending the AGM on Wednesday evening and now look likely to be discussed further before being put to a full membership vote.

In the first project of its kind to be announced by the Trust Board, attending members expressed their interest and support for the venture and Acting Chairman Tony Sharp told the meeting which was attended by around 40 members, that initial talks on the project have also been met with enthusiasm by representatives from the Football Club.

If the project were to go ahead, would mean that the Trust could offer low cost hire of the facility to the Football Club for training use, saving the club thousands each season as well as offering them a base from which they could function when the weather conditions put the current facilities out of action.

The Trust would also be able to offer the use of the facilities to the community outside of match days which would generate much needed funds as well as indirectly promoting the club to a wider audience.

The matter will now be discussed further at the next Trust Board meeting (Wednesday 15th June) and it is expected a further announcement about putting the project to a membership vote will be made shortly afterwards.
